2020 Local Author Panel

M.J. Bell MJ spent her childhood in Iowa, but now considers Colorado her home.

She remembers being completely hooked on the books. She was totally obsessed with reading and would devour any book she could get her hands on and it makes no difference the genre. 

She is the author of several books including Before the Full Moon Rises, The Chronicles of the Secret Prince trilogy and her most recent book Next Time I See You.

Brock Eastman lives in Colorado with his wife, four kids, two cats, and leopard gecko. Brock is the author of The Quest for Truth series, the Sages of Darkness series, Showdown with the Shepherd in the Imagination Station series, and the novella Wasted Wood. He writes articles for FamilyFiction digital magazine and Clubhouse magazine. You may have seen him on the official Adventures in Odyssey podcast and on its Social Shout-Out. He was the first producer of and launched the Odyssey Adventure Club. Brock currently works for Compassion International, whose mission is to release kids from poverty worldwide. Brock enjoys getting letters and artwork from fans.

Jim & Stephanie Kroepfl Jim Kroepfl writes YA science fiction novels with his wife, Stephanie, and short stories of mystery and adventure from a rustic cabin in the Colorado Rockies. Their debut novel, Merged, was published by Month9Books in September 2019.


When not writing, Jim is a musician. He and his wife are mythology buffs and world travelers who seek out crop circles, obscure historical sites and mysterious ruins.

Brenna Yovanoff  was raised in a barn, a tent, and a tepee, and was homeschooled until high school. She spent her formative years in Arkansas, in a town heavily populated by snakes, where sometimes they would drop turkeys out of the sky. When she was five, she moved to Colorado, where it snows on a regular basis but never snows turkeys.

OLIVIA ABTAHI Growing up in the DC area, Olivia devoured books and hid in empty classrooms during school to finish them. Her debut novel, Perfectly Parvin, will be published with Penguin Random House Putnam Books For Young Readers. In her spare time Olivia enjoys binging music videos on YouTube, laughing so hard she can’t breathe, and hitting 10,000 steps on her FitBit. She currently lives in Denver, Colorado, with a husband she met in high school and a tortoiseshell cat that has opinions about everything.
